Hello everyone, hope all is well and lots of spring projects
on the go!
I just wanted to drop you a quick line before I dash off
to Malvern in case you can't come to that show to let you
know all the new things we have in stock. You can see at last
on the Home Page the sweet little Susan Branch travel sewing
kits - they really are "yummy". Check out the What's
New page, where it seems as though I've gone overboard on
stitching items. The linen boxes are wonderful, and look great
with your own stitching on top, or indeed a stencilled picture
- I've used the large heart shaped box and added the Small
Blessing heart shaped stencil in muted colours on tea dyed
calico for a lovely antique feel. If you check under each
individual cross stitch
designer (Bent Creek, Heart in Hand, Twisted Threads) you'll
see even more new designs.
We were so excited to find the I Love Sewing T-shirts, especially
as they have a heart on, AND come with a heart on the porcelain
thimble - very nice! They come nicely packaged, tied colourfully
with the collectable thimble on a card, and make a lovely
gift for £15.50.
I don't know if you remember, but some time ago I was unable
to get hold of any more tiny cinnamon heart and stars? I have
managed to track down a little tool which will make them,
and it includes a recipe as well! It comes 3 different sizes
to the pack for £8 - great value! They've just arrived,
so I won't have time to test it out before Malvern, so you
tell me how great it is!
I've also managed to get hold of some of those fabulous Weeks
Dye Works hand over-dyed threads, which add such a subtle
shading to primitive cross stitch. You can't always tell from
the pattern photos, especially when viewed on your computer
monitor, but they really do make a huge difference! I've kitted
up Wee Herbert for the show: cross stitch pattern, linen
banding, and just the right threads to make it up for £17.50
- if you bought a full skein of each thread colour you need
for this pattern, it would cost £29, so I've worked
out how much of each colour you need and added a bit extra
for those inevitable mistakes! (not that I'm admitting to
making any, you understand!)
I'm sure I'm forgetting something(s) important, and I'll
try to remember for next time. Until then, enjoy the (periodic)
sunshine, and Happy Sewing!
Bye for now,
Lynn
