Happy Spring!

It's that funny time of year when you can't decide whether to wear long sleeves or no sleeves, potter in the garden or stay inside and sew - I'd opt for sewing any day! (you should see how nicely our gooseweed and nettle patches are coming along!)

I've just returned from the Paducah Quilt show in America, put on by the American Quilter's Society, and it turned out to be everything I'd hoped for. Mum and I went together and we had the best time, until we became "quilt overloaded" and couldn't look at any more - didn't think that was possible! The standard of quilt was extremely high, but you couldn't always see very well since the quilts were all behind ropes - hands off everyone! You'll be delighted to hear that the highest winner was an English entrant, and it was breathtaking. We also found time for some craft shopping, and I had to buy a box to bring home all my extras, despite going over with my largest suitcase half-empty in anticipation of a buying frenzy! We also
found time for some extended visits to family in the region, so it was an all-round delightful trip. (all on my own - no children, no school uniforms or homework or laundry or squabbles!!) But it was delightful to come home - don't they appreciate you once you've been away?

Now that things are back to normal, we're very excited to tell you about the release of....(drum roll...) our very first Homespun Hearts Catalogue!! It's got everything we stock listed with prices and sizes and even loads of pictures. You can download a copy from the website to print off so you don't have to be online to see what you'd like to order. You can also get a printed copy from us. Sorry, but we have to charge a £1 to cover our costs, however we will include one free with every order over £10. This also applies at shows - if you spend over £10, we'll give you a catalogue.

We are busy organising workshops, and will be at the Festival of Quilts at the NEC in August. Unfortunately we won't be at Malvern this year, due to unforeseen circumstances - we'll miss it! But hopefully you'll come by our stand at the Festival in August - I'll have all summer to put finishing touches to some new Homespun Hearts designs I've had in mind for some time.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the What's New and Sale pages - I've put together a Stencil Starter Kit which is extremely good value (£21), and you get to pick the key components! I've also got in a supply of sweet little booklets of Embossing Tissues (£1.50), which help your stylus to glide more easily over your paper (ever had that juddery sensation?!) On the Sale pages, I have managed to get my photo guru to snap pics of these fabulous Sterling Silver Charms (£5). They are so gorgeous to sew onto a special piece of needlework, or thread with ribbon and wear as a pendant or sew onto your craft/quilt group name badge. Hurry, 'cuz when they're gone, I won't be getting any more. There are quilt-themed ones, lots of different hearts (get away!) and some little garden-themed ones. I've also put quite a few stencils into the sale, some Easter-themed ones, as well as some Christmas items, so stock up at reduced rate for next year! Also, some beautiful Diane Phalen greetings cards (£1) and a Rebecca Barker beautiful card for 75p! For cross stitchers, the Aida band is an amazing £2 a metre - I found it when doing a stock take and just want it to be gone!! I have about 6 metres left, so I might even do a special deal for someone wanting to buy the lot...

That's about it for now, we hope to see you in August, or sooner at a fun-filled workshop. Until then, happy sewing and happy crafting!

Kind regards,
Lynn
